CHAIRS FOR HOSPITALS AND LABORATORIES

All chairs from VELA can be adapted for different tasks such as working by fume cupboards, laboratory benching and microscopy. VELA offers a large selection of seats, backs, special arm rests and wheels. All chairs are variable in height so they can be suitable for alternating tasks.

The development department at VELA constantly focus on quality, functionality and design in cooperation with therapists who always ensure ergonomic and comfort for users.

VELA uses robust mechanical parts and cover the chairs with hardwearing materials so they stay nice and functional for many years.

All chairs from VELA are manufactured in Aalborg and we can offer an accelerated delivery time. We don’t manufacture chairs before they are ordered providing the opportunity for individual adjustments.

EXPERTS IN PERFECT PADDING
VELA has it’s own padding workshop which always has over 300 types of foam, textiles and dye in store. All chairs are CE marked and meet current standards.

STOOLS

All stools are available with hand- or foot-controlled height-adjustment with easy handling due to small frame, easy-running wheels and good comfort. Can be personally adapted with back, wheels and brakes.

Sadle seat with tilt promotes a good forward leaning ergonomic active sitting posture. Sadle seat is available in two sizes.

Dynamic seat cushion which promotes mobility in the back and pelvis. The dynamic movements stimulates and strengthens the back and pelvis. Seat cushion is available in two sizes.

SIT-STAND CHAIR

All sit-stand chairs are available with hand- or foot-controlled height-adjustment. They are ideal for changing between standing and sitting work and the short seat with tilt promotes a forward leaning active position for a healty back. Furthermore it relieves pressure to the back and pelvis f9r standing height work.
A short seat makes it possible to get closer to the workstation and extra support and comfort from foot rest to the high working positions.

OFFICE- AND HIGH CHAIR

Egonomic shaped seat and back support promotes a good sitting posture and the comfortable sitting due to extra padding.
The low or narrow back provides free movement of arms and shoulders. Several types of arm rests can be provided as accessories and easy and stepless adjustment of seat and back functions.

5 GOOD SUGGESTIONS FOR ERGONOMICS

Shift working position between sitting and standing.

Shift between a chair with or without back rest for variation during the day.

Use the chairs setting range of seat and back rest to vary your working position. Move and shift position according to the task.

Sit close to the task, move the chair and avoid positions working with the back and neck bent forward or with long distance of reach.

Use the chairs height-adjustments and seat tilt to avoid working with raised shoulders and arms. A high chair promotes a straight seated posture and you will have a better overview.

VIPER

Viper is a newer chair designed by Hans Thyge & Co. The chair has been made with a circular economy focus and high ergonomics. The chair is molded in controlled regenerated Scandinavian PP plastic with 100% traceability, this means that the recycled plastic can be traced throughout the whole production process. The chair is also designed to be completely un-assembled allowing parts to be reused for new and repaired Viper chairs. This is one of the reasons why VIPER is EU Flower certified.

Viper has been designed to ensure the best ergonomic condition for sitting well. The chair combines two principles, a tilt in the chair seat and flex in the backrest.

The rocking chair seat gives you a sitting position that ensures optimal blood circulation, while the newly developed tilt bracket means that the seat movement follows the user’s weight, providing optimal seating comfort and support.

The flexible and organic backrest provides perfect ergonomic support for the lower back and the backrest also adapts to the user body's weight and direction.

RAY

The RAY chair is designed by Hans Thyge & Co. in close collaboration with Simon Dennehy from Perch Studio in Dublin. The concept and design of the chair is based on Simon Dennehy’s Ph.D. dissertation on ergonomic school furniture. The Ray series represents the future of school furniture and actively supports learning contributing to an enterprising learning environment.

The backrest is molded from glass-filled nylon, and the seat is constructed from a special type of very light plastic designed to withstand loadings without deflection. This provides robustness and flexibility at the same time and as a very light chair children can move them around easily. All this makes the RAY chair the perfect educational chair.

COBRA

Cobra is a chair designed by Hans Thyge & Co. and Hans Sandgren Jakobsen. The chair is designed with a strong focus on ergonomics and seating comfort.
Cobra is, as you can clearly see in the design, named after the mighty cobra. The perfectly designed back looks like the contour of a cobra that is fully focused, listening and ready to respond.

The seat is available in natural wood and upholstered variants with shock-absorbing edge.
The back is made of beautiful matt quality plastic.

PEGASUS

Height-adjustable stool on wheels. Pegasus is an elegant stool supported on a foot cross. The seat height is adjusted with a gas spring, with different height options available.

The Arion wooden stool is very solid, robust, and stackable. The stool has a light and elegant design and is suitable for educational use.
