EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
FURNISHING AN EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
As a patient arriving at a Hospital emergency department, you are dependent upon skilled nurses and doctors who in turn are dependent upon on the right furnishings and equipment. Optimal furnishings are very important to provide the best overview as usually action must happen quickly.
Consumables and medicine must be stored visibly with the ability of finding the necessary products quickly. Usually, hospital cabinets in these departments have modular sides for trays/baskets and the cabinet door fronts have glass vision panels creating an overview of content without opening the cabinets.
Storage cabinets with sliding doors or roller shutter doors optimize space whilst complying with hygiene standards.
With sliding glass doors there is an option to cover the doors in frosted graduated foil from top to bottom. This provides the Hospital staff an easy overview while at the same time shielding the patient from the content of the cabinet.
The standard modular side in the Zystm program can be sloped, tilted, or placed horizontally (see folder here). The variations provide advantages, the sloped version offers ease of visibility of content stored in the trays & baskets whereas tilted enables staff to view the stored content in high level trays and baskets.
Typically, there will be a requirement for many cabinets of various types. these can be ordinary storage units or cabinets with specific function, e.g., catheter storage, linen cabinets, cabinets with extraction etc.
The Zystm program covers all various requirements for cabinets for these areas.
FURNISHING AN EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT WITH TROLLEYS AND ROLLING STOCK
An open rolling table for trays/baskets provides staff with flexibility according to patient care. The rolling table can be arranged with procedure trays containing the necessary materials for specific procedures.
The Moduflex program covers a wide range of MPO trolleys which either are trolleys designed for specific procedures, e.g. anaesthesia, plaster trolleys, procedure trolleys etc. These trolleys can be supplied as closed trolleys with rolling shutter doors, closed trolleys with fronts or trolleys with drawers. Moduflex trolleys can also be manufactured with modular sides and no front, which in principle works as a rolling cabinet.
EPR TABLES
Zystm offers a wide program of EPR tables working as mobile desks. The tables are available in several variants from the advanced table providing a large screen and PC with battery power to a model primarily used for laptops or smaller PC.
Common for all the tables is that they are designed to provide the correct ergonomics and working positions meaning the tables are height-adjustable with movement from sitting to standing positions. Furthermore, adjusting the screen's position according to the user is optional.
You can find out more about our EPR tables and various accessories here.
JOBS IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Obviously, there is a requirement for administrative and specific function workplaces in an emergency department. It is important to choose the right ergonomic solutions considering staffing requirements. The Zystm product range fully covers this area and with our furniture program we can supply tables with the exact individual function for each specific area.
STAFF OR PATIENT CABINETS
The Zystm cabinet program also offers staff and patient cabinets for storing personal belongings. The cabinets are supplied with a lock either with an ordinary key, card reader or with code.
COUNTER AND FURNITURE
Zystm tailor-make arrival areas to suit the surroundings for each department. Considering counter colour, shape, wheelchair user requirements and any other special cases. The counter can be shaped from a wide variety of materials, usually, we recommend laminate as the preferred surface choice due to its durability and easy-to-clean finish. As with all our products at Zystm we design the proposed furniture in a 3D model which can be incorporated into the hospitals or clinic's own drawings, enabling customers and users to get an impression of the product and furnishing prior to manufacture.
