OP/ANESTHESIA/RECOVERY

When furnishing an operating theatre, there are high requirements that must be met. The operating room is a sterile clean area so it is important that the equipment used meets all hygiene criteria while still flexible and ergonomically designed to accommodates all staff needs.

FURNISHING OF THE OPERATING ROOM/ANESTHESIA

Before the staff enter an operating theatre, they must thoroughly wash. Surgical sinks, which are available as single, double, or triple, are an important element here. The sinks are often made of corian or composite material and equipped with hands-free water operation. The surgical sinks are constructed and designed for this particular use, meaning ergonomically correct washing. Hygiene and cleaning are always considered.

If a stainless steel surgeon's sink is preferred Zystm’s program also offers this option. However, the sink has limited options and design.

An anesthesia trolley, which is equipped with trays/baskets and the accessories the customer requires, provides quick access to utensils used for anesthesia treatment. Zystm's cart program provides unlimited options of carts and rolling tables specifically designed for the operating theatre.

CABINETS IN THE OPERATING ROOM

The extensive program of cabinets ensures the selection of the correct requirements for the operating theatre. If you require good insight for a quick overview of the cupboard’s contents, choosing storage cupboards with glass fronts is a recommendation.

Modern operating rooms are supplied with equipment from the corridor without the supply staff entering the operating theatre. This is typically achieved using pass-through cabinets, which have access from the corridor side and operation theatre side. In order to prevent contamination between the rooms, these cabinets are equipped with an intelligent interlock system, preventing the cabinet from been open both sides at the same time.

Usually, X-ray work will take place in the operating theatre. In this instance the pass-through cabinet outside the operating theatre must be radiation-protected, this is achieved by fitting radiation lining to the pass-through cabinet. It is essential that all fire safety policies and requirements are accommodated. Zystm offers a wide range of fire-resistant pass-through cabinets.

If the supply to the operating theatre takes place through cabinets using Casecart/sterile carts, this can be achieved with the same principles as above, again protecting against radiation contamination and risk of fire.

Operating Theatre Cabinets will typically be constructed with a sloping top cover to optimize cleaning.

There will usually be a requirement for secondary table space for computer use etc... This can either be solved with a wall-mounted height-adjustable workplace, designed to accommodate the diversity of the staff, or a mobile height-adjustable workplace, designed to house a PC and large screen.

SPECIAL FURNISHINGs FOR THE OPERATING THEATRE

The operating theatre can be specially designed depending on its required use. If, for example, if there is a requirement for wet areas in connection with burn treatment, the inventory can be produced in compact laminate, withstanding high humidity and aggressive environments. Zystm has extensive experience in special inventory and since most of our products are produced in our own factories in Denmark, special solutions for specific needs can be manufactured supplied.

ARRANGEMENT FOR RECOVERY

The recovery area is typically a larger area and here Zystm's EPR/data table will give the staff the option of a mobile workplace which can be moved around to patients during their recovery.

Other furnishings in the recovery area are typically achieved using Zystm's standard wall-hung tables and cupboards from our standard range. A good choice for cabinets could be the modular cabinet series, which offers the greatest flexibility.
