The Europe Hospitals are a leading hospital group serving the city of Brussels and its surrounding areas. As a multilingual general hospital, they offer comprehensive care at three sites: St-Elisabeth in Uccle, St-Michel in Etterbeek/European Quarter and the Bella Vita Medical Center in Waterloo. They provide care to around 2,500 patients every day.
We were contacted by the hospital to help them with the refurbishment of the OR storage room at their Saint-Michel site. After talks between the hospital project team and the MATTTEO sales team, the hospital opted for our ISO modular racks. These open racks provide the hospital with a better overview of the stored material and allow for a dense KANBAN storage of the products.
Given the limited storage space in the room MATTTEO recommended racks with increased height (2200mm vs standard 1930 mm). The additional storage space ensured all requested material could be stored as desired.
Noteworthy in this case was that the operating theatre kept on functioning while the refurbishment of the rooms was taking place. In order to allow the hospital to continue working, MATTTEO provided an identical temporary storage
set-up in a different room.
After the renovated storage room was ready, we installed the final set-up. The hospital could then transfer all material from the temporary room to the actual storage room. Already the day after the transfer was done, MATTTEO took down the temporary racks to minimize the disturbance to the hospital.
